Malassezia globosa fungus is what causes tinea versicolor most of the times. This type of fungi is typically present on the body. Coconut oil again is effective for any kind of skin infections. With its soothing property, coconut oil also helps in getting rid of the itchiness caused due to tinea versicolor. Apply suitable amount of coconut oil in the infected area and rinse with warm water after 15 minutes.
6. Apple cider vinegar
Another of the most effective home remedies for tinea versicolor. This remedy may not be so effective in the early stage as to prevent the growth of the fungus. Apple cider vinegar with its cleansing properties, instead, helps in removing the patches caused due to tinea versicolor. If you have a severe case of tinea versicolor, mix apple cider vinegar in a bucket filled with water and shower with this mixture. Half bowl of apple cider vinegar would be sufficient.
Garlic also contains antifungal properties that aids in the prevention of the multiplication of the fungus. It can be used as the substitution for any of the above remedy or can be used in the first place. Garlic juice is what you need to apply in the affected area to get rid of the fungus.
